Privacy Policy – A Season of Joy

A Season of Joy (the “App”) is developed and operated by KYP Studio AS (“KYP Studio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
1. Overview
The App is designed as a personal and calm space for everyday joy. It does not require account creation and is built to function with minimal data handling.
When enabled by you, the App uses Apple CloudKit to synchronize your data securely across your own Apple devices.
2. Data you create in the App
The App allows you to create personal content such as notes and preferred activities.
This content is created solely for your personal use and is stored locally on your device and, if iCloud synchronization is enabled, securely synced to your private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. We do not access, read, analyze, or otherwise process this content.
3. CloudKit and iCloud synchronization
The App uses Apple CloudKit to keep your content in sync across devices signed in with your Apple ID.
- Synced data is stored in your private CloudKit database
- The data is associated with your Apple ID, not with KYP Studio AS
- We do not have access to your Apple ID or iCloud account
- Apple provides the CloudKit infrastructure under its own privacy terms
You can enable or disable iCloud synchronization at any time through your device or iCloud settings.
4. Limited technical data
To operate the App reliably, we handle a very limited amount of technical information, such as:
- App configuration required for basic functionality
- Subscription status (if applicable), handled by Apple via In-App Purchases. KYP Studio AS does not receive personal billing details.
We do not:
- collect account credentials
- collect location data
- use tracking for advertising
- sell or share your data for marketing purposes
5. Third-party services
The App relies on Apple’s standard services, including:
- App Store distribution
- In-App Purchases and subscriptions
- CloudKit for data synchronization
These services are governed by Apple’s own privacy policies. The App does not use analytics, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking. We do not integrate third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies.
When viewing legal or informational pages within the App, content may be loaded from our website (kypstudio.com).
In such cases, standard web server information (such as IP address, request time, and browser or device information) may be processed by our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) for operational and security purposes.
KYP Studio AS does not access, analyze, or use this information for analytics, profiling, advertising, or marketing purposes.
6. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
Because the App does not collect or centrally store personal content, most data protection obligations are fulfilled directly on your device or through Apple’s services.
Where applicable, limited technical data is handled based on:
- Your consent
- Performance of a contract (providing app functionality)
- Legitimate interests, such as maintaining and improving the App
Personal content stored locally or in your iCloud account is not processed by KYP Studio AS.
7. Data retention
Your personal content remains on your device and, if iCloud synchronization is enabled, in your private iCloud account. We do not access or store copies of your personal content on our own servers.
8. Your rights
Under applicable data protection laws, you have rights related to personal data. However, because the App does not provide accounts and KYP Studio AS does not access or store personal content, these rights are generally exercised directly by you through the App and your device or iCloud settings.
This includes viewing, editing, or deleting your content, disabling synchronization, or removing the App at any time. Because KYP Studio AS does not store personal data on its own servers, certain data subject rights may not be applicable in practice.
9. Children’s privacy
The App does not include content specifically targeted at children. It does not provide accounts or user registration, and KYP Studio AS does not collect personal content from users of any age. Any personal content created in the App is stored locally on the user’s device and, if enabled, in the user’s private iCloud account.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App or on this page, and the “Last updated” date above will be revised.
